Worship

Join us for worship

A typical worship service at Lake Shore United Methodist church may include a greeting and opening prayer, scripture readings, silent prayer and meditation, an offering, the Lord's Prayer, a children's message, the sermon, special music and hymns, and closing prayer.

Our morning service is a traditional Methodist service. We sing hymns from the United Methodist Hymnal, and we have special music from individuals. We seek to have Christ-centered services focused on prayer and Bible-based messages.

Communion is served on the first Sunday of each month. The table of Holy Communion is Christ's table, not the table of The United Methodist Church or of the local congregation. The table is open to anyone who seeks to respond to Christ's love and seeks to lead a new life of peace and love. We follow the Service of Word and Table from the hymnal.

We offer a nursery for younger children: A competent, loving nursery worker looks forward to caring for your babies and preschool-age children during Sunday school. Children are welcome in our worship service, but we also provide a nursery for those individuals who would like to leave their children in that nurturing environment. Lake Shore is a Safe Sanctuary congregation. Visit our Contact page for driving directions to our church.
